Hello Readers!

I'm Back!

Let me first apologize for not posting anything up here for a couple of months (has it really been since February?). I know I was going to try to keep up with my blog and my school work. This semester has been very difficult and stressful which caused me to drop out of the blogging world for a while. It has been the cause of changing up my major a little bit. I will no longer be a Computer Science/Accounting double major, but will now be a Computer Science major with Accounting and Business Administration as a double minor. I never like changing my plans, so I'm a little sad about changing up my major, but I think in the end, it will be a lot less stressful for me and will still give me a decent degree when I do graduate.

But anyways, what does this mean for Elegance of Fashion? Well, since this semester is over (yay!), I'll be back to posting the way I used to. I will have more free time to watch period dramas, write about period dramas, and maybe even work on screen-capping period dramas and creating new banners.

For one thing, I said that I was going to change up the layout every so often (like monthly or bi-monthly). This layout has been up for months. So, one of the first things I'm going to do is decide on a new layout. I have a theme in mind, but if you want to suggest anything, leave a comment.

And also, I do believe a tournament is long over due! I would like to start up another tournament. Melody a long time ago commented that another Hero Tournament would be nice, so that's the route that I'm thinking about. But, as always, I'm open to suggestions, so again, comment a suggestion!

I think that's about it for now. It might take a little bit of time to get everything back to order, but I will be working on getting things back to the way they were.

So, where am I now with the new layout? (Yes, a date has been set!)

Hey everyone!

I haven't posted in over a week! I thought it would be a good time to update all of you. I've been doing quite a bit of work behind the scenes for the new layout. For the most part, it's going pretty well. In fact I think I am ready to set the date for when I will put up the new layout.

Header Poll Results and Progress on New Look

So for starter's, the poll is now closed at the side bar. Thank you for voting and helping to decide about the header. But now, for the results. So between a multi-themed banner and a monthly banner, you all preferred...

One multi-themed banner that is changed once a year	6 (31%)
Monthly/Bi-monthly banners that have a specific theme	12 (63%)
No Preference	3 (15%)

a monthly banner! So that is what I will try to do from now on: changing up the banner either every month or every two months.

But now for the progress on the new look.

I'm Back!

Okay, so yesterday was supposed to be my day back, but I had a bit of a busy day yesterday (getting Mother's Day gifts together and what not) so I'm officially back today!

So my finals and final projects went by pretty well and I'm happy to be on summer break and resting. I finished my big sewing project that I was working on for a class (which you all will be seeing two posts about in the upcoming days), and now I'm on the search on what to sew next.

During my absence, I had three lovely bloggers guest posting for me. I would personally like to thank Melody/Miss Marianne from Regency Delight and The P&P95 Forever Club, Analiese from Portrait of a Maiden, and Charity from Austenitis for taking time out of their schedules to guest post for me while I was taking finals. They Seek Miss Bennet Here, They Seek Miss Bennet There...

Yep, it's that time of year again -- the end of the school year! I have been very busy with a lot of end of the year projects as of late (which would account for the lack of posting here). For the next week, I'll be finishing up those projects, studying and taking finals, and finishing up anything else before I go on Summer break.

What does this mean for you? Well, until May 6th, you might not see too much from me in the upcoming week. Reviews and any other posts will have to go on a mini hiatus until I completely come back to blogging.

But don't worry, I'll still check up here every so often. I'll be able to publish your comments and respond to any questions you may have in the upcoming week. And I've arranged for some guest posts on Elegance of Fashion until I return, so keep checking up here for new posts. I'll also schedule some "Best of" posts to bring back older posts that might pique your interest.

Happy New Year! And Upcoming Events (Please Read; Comments Suggested)

Happy New Year, everyone! Now that 2012 is behind us and we have 2013 to come, I hope that everyone has had a good 2012 and that everyone will have a good 2013.

Now, as 2013 has begun, I would like to announce a couple of plans that I would like to announce for the beginning of 2013.

200 Years of Pride and Prejudice Blog Party

January 28th marks the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice. To honor the 200th anniversary of my favorite book, I will be holding a week long event to commemorate 200 years of Pride and Prejudice. The blog party will start on January 21st and end on the day itself. There will be a lot of events planned: trivia, contests, posts about Pride and Prejudice, and even guest posts! ...but for my own part, if a summer vacation is very restful, I always find it too short.

As of today, my summer vacation is at an end. I go back to school today. It was a good summer for me and I got some rest after a difficult semester, but now it's time to go back to the daily grind.

So, while I'll be adjusting to my new schedule (and probably homework too), my posting on Elegance of Fashion may be a little bit irregular. I will try my hardest to post from time to time, but if you don't hear from me in a while, it's probably because I have a lot going on that week.

Announcing The Period Drama Advice Event!

Apologies

I wish to offer some apologies since I've made plans here at Elegance of Fashion which had to be broken.

1. I said that on December 19th I would bring back reviews after a quick break for finals, but I'm going to need a little more time.

2. I was going to participate in Yet Another Period Drama Blog's and Between the Covers's Jane Austen Birthday events, but didn't. I have that tags for both blogs written up in my drafts in Blogger, so I will be posting them sometime this week. Very sorry to Miss Dashwood and Eva-joy for not participating in their events.

Explanation of No Reviews

I've been a little lax for my reviews since there haven't been reviews for two weeks (this week and last week). A lot has been going on in life recently, between papers and other homework and the tournament, so I haven't really had time to review anything. Don't worry, I'm not stopping reviews: in fact, I'm hoping by next week, I'll have a review ready. It's just been a little crazy lately, but we've just got a couple more period dramas on DVD and hopefully everything will calm down.

 I made a quick change in the Extras Page. There are now individual HTML codes underneath all the extras, not just one that you paste the URL into the code where it said to. Hopefully, this will make putting up extras up on your blog easier!

Some Layout Changes (Reactions and moving things around)

 No, I didn't make any drastic changes like change the banner/background. I just made a few changes that I thought I would bring to your attention:

 

First of all, I've finally got the reactions to work! I've been trying to add them for months now, but for some reason, Blogger just wouldn't take them. But I looked it up the solution, remedied the problem, and now you can click on your reaction to a post.

Secondly, I switched the followers and Pride and Prejudice Wardrobe widgets on the left side bar and I moved the Elegance of Fashion linking button to the right side bar.

And lastly, I finally noticed that I could enable commenting on my blog pages. So the Banners page, the Extras page, the Icons page, and the Tournaments page, you can leave a comment. You can comment on those pages as you could on a regular post, so if you have an idea for a banner, extra, icon, or tournament, you can leave a comment there.

Nothing too terrible, I hope. Hopefully these changes will make Elegance of Fashion more enjoyable to you!
