JABA: Winter Regency Fashion Show

And to conclude JABA here at Elegance of Fashion, I present to you a fashion show of Regency Winter Wear "modeled" by Jane Austen characters!

Miss Anne Elliot (played by Sally Hawkins) is modeling a brown pelisse with a dark green day gown and a bonnet. Her outfit is perfect for those walks along the coast at Lyme.
Next, we have Miss Marianne Dashwood (played by Charity Wakefield) modeling a dark red pelisse, dark lavender scarf, and a straw bonnet. Those walks around Barton can get chilly at this time of year, but she'll be perfectly warm in her pelisse and scarf!

I'm a little late on this, but here are my answers for the JABA Tag. You can also find this tag at Old-Fashioned Charm for the Jane Austen Birthday Assembly

JABA: Anne Hathaway vs. Olivia Williams

Old-Fashioned Charm
As you all may have seen in my reviews of Becoming Jane and Miss Austen Regrets, I'm not entirely fond of either of Anne Hathaway's or Olivia William's Jane Austen. There were always something about both of them that struck a bad cord with me. But they did have their good points to them. So here, I'm comparing the two Miss Austens!

How I Met Jane Austen

Old-Fashioned Charm
A Very Happy Birthday to Jane Austen today! It was 237 years ago today in 1775 that she was born!

Hope you all are enjoying the Jane Austen Birthday Assembly! I don't believe I've ever told the story about how I "met" Jane Austen and became a fan of hers.

Contest: Guess Their Thoughts

Old-Fashioned Charm

Here at Elegance of Fashion, the Jane Austen Birthday Assembly will start off with a contest: the Guess Their Thoughts Contest. This is a new contest that I recently thought up of for something new and different for Elegance of Fashion.

Instructions:
  1. Pick a segment of a dialogue (a couple of lines so that the entry makes sense) from a Jane Austen novel or adaptation.
  2. Take one of the characters and write down what they might be thinking in modern-speak.
  3. Leave a comment saying with novel/adaptation it came from and the entry
  4. Entries will be accepted until Sunday, December 16th (Jane Austen's Birthday). Voting will commence on Monday, December 17th and last until the 20th when the Jane Austen Birthday Assembly closes.
Rules
  • You can submit up to three.
  • As always, keep it clean and family friendly.

Examples:
Mr. Darcy: It must be agreeable to her to live within easy distance of her family.
Elizabeth: Easy distance? It's nearly fifty miles!
Mr. Darcy: What is fifty miles of good road? Yes, an easy distance.
Elizabeth: (thinking) Oh sure, you've never had to travel with my family.

Mr. Darcy: You would not wish to be always near Longbourn, I think.

Elizabeth: (Thinking) What, like your family's so perfect that you always want to live near Rosings?

 God Bless,
God Bless, Miss Elizabeth Bennet

We have a lot of fun things planned for JABA! There will be games of trivia and scavenger, contests, tags, and posts commemorating our favorite author!
