Helpful Blogger Award

Melody from Regency Delight ~Jane Austen, etc.~ has awarded me the Helpful Blogger Award. Thank you so much, Melody!

Rules of The Helpful Blogger Award
~Link back to the person who awarded you in your 'acceptance' post
~Tell three helpful things you have done either on or off the blogosphere
~Nominate three other bloggers and tell them that you've nominated them

Okay, here it goes! :-)

~I've posted a link to Melody's blog, but here's another link to Regency Delight ~Jane Austen, etc.~. I recommend that you check out her blog! She posts a lot of fun things over there!

~ Three helpful things I have done:
1. Well, we got a puppy last week, so a lot of my time has been spent helping my parents watch the new puppy. Sugar likes to chew on a lot of things, so I have to keep her out of trouble.
2. I helped a fellow blogger with a background. I helped this blogger figure out what a good size for a background would be and resized a picture for this blogger. Who is this blogger? Well, you know who you are ;-)
3. Sometimes, I run out and get lunch for my family. I just did yesterday.

~ Nominations
Charity from Austenitis
Now, I know that Charity will be away for the whole summer, but I want to pass this award on to her. She was my first blogging friend. I'm sure there are a number of my followers that found me because of Austenitis. She comments a lot on my posts, has suggestions for banners, and allows me to guest post on Austenitis. Thank you, Charity!

Miss Laurie from Old-Fashioned Charm
Now, I know that Miss Laurie was awarded this award by Melody, but she has also been a great help to me! She is always willing to help out with any events that I hold. When I create images for guest posts or events and I'm not quite sure how they look, Miss Laurie provides a second set of eyes to see how they look. Thank you, Miss Laurie!

Melody from Regency Delight ~Jane Austen, etc.~
Okay, I know she gave me the award, but Melody has helped me out a lot. Melody has a lot of great ideas that I wouldn't have thought of. She's also a lot better at naming things than I am (I'm awful with names!) and has helped me with naming things. She also comments frequently on my posts, which always gives me a smile! Thank you, Melody!

And I also want to give a big thank you to all my followers for following me! I still can't believe that I have over 200 followers. When I started Elegance of Fashion, I didn't imagine that I would have 100 followers, let alone 200. Thank you so much!

Won a Couple of Awards!

I've been a little behind on this, but I've won two awards recently, so I'm going to cover both of them in one post.

My first award came to me from Somersaulting Through Life -- The Kreativ Blogger Award. Thanks for the award!

Now, I have to say 10 random things about myself:

  1. I've recently upgraded parts of my computer. My brother helped me add more memory chips to the computer, but I replaced the CD Drive and Graphics Card all by myself! :-D
  2. I've been thinking about changing my layout (nothing official yet, just merely thinking about it).
  3. I've got a couple of sewing projects that I'm planning out/working on. And now that I'm on summer break, I'll be able to work on them!
  4. Recently, I've grown a fondness of cameo necklaces.
  5. Over the summer, I'll be guest posting on other blogs.
  6. I'm also planning some events over at this blog.
  7. After taking a couple of programming classes, I can program (though not extremely complicated stuff, but complex programs) in three programming languages (not counting HTML).
  8. I've been drinking a lot of tea lately.
  9. I believe that a new Austen adaptation is long over-due (I vote for Mansfield Park! And make it good!)
  10. After doing so many 10 random things posts, it's becoming more difficult to say 10 new random things    :-p
And now (at least) 6 Nominations:

I also received the "Your blog is great!" award from Miss Woodhouse at Elinor, Elizabeth, and Emma.

Rules:
  • Put a link to who gave you the award.
  • Put the award on your post.
  • Choose 5 blogs to receive the award.
  • Let them know you awarded them.

And now 5 Blogs:

I've won the Helpful Blogger Award

Eva-Joy from Elinor and Emma has created an award called the Helpful Blogger Award and has awarded me! Thank you very much, Eva-Joy! It's been a pleasure helping you.

  • Post three helpful things you’ve done.
  • Nominate another three other bloggers for the award and go to their site and tell them you did it.
Here is where you can find Elinor and Emma. I recommend you check it out!

Three helpful things I've done
1. I've agreed to write a couple of guest posts for a couple of blogs.
2. I do some simple HTML for other bloggers (If there is enough interest, I could even do a small post about useful simple HTML that you could use on your blogs)
3. I've run out and have gotten dinner for my family.

Three Helpful Bloggers

I would also like to thank Miss Laurie from Old-Fashioned Charm and Miss Dashwood from Yet Another Period Drama Blog. They also received the award at Elinor and Emma.

I've won the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award!

Alyianna from Scribbles of a Catholic Teen awarded me the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award! Thank you, Alyianna for awarding me this award! For this award, I have to:

1. Post 7 random facts about yourself.
2. Then pass it onto 10 other bloggers

So, first thing's first. 7 random facts!

1. I'm currently working on a big sewing project (It's a secret for now, though! I'll post about it when it's done!)
2. I'm currently watching the 2nd season of Downton Abbey (which is good, by the way, though the last episode was quite sad).
3. I have lately (and by lately, I mean last spring) taken to wearing hats.
4. Because I've started to wear hats, I enjoy hat pins!
5. I'm currently taking a class about HTML (though I know enough to use it on my blog)
6. I've finished watching The Duchess of Duke Street.
7. I've started to become interested in 1910s fashion.

There are my 7 random facts. Now I will award this to 10 bloggers:

I'm An Inspirational Blogger Award

I was awarded the "I'm An Inspirational Blogger Award" by three bloggers! Thank you Miss Laurie from Old-Fashioned Charm, Miss Dashwood from Yet Another Period Drama Blog, and Abby from Newly Impassioned Soul.

Rules
1. Be sure to post the award on your blog, for all of your readers to admire!
2. You will need to link back to the person who nominated you!
3. Make sure you tell your readers 7 random facts about yourself!
4. Also mention your favourite hobby, colour and food!
5. Pass this award on to your 10 inspirational bloggers! (You can choose the person to nominated you!)

Got #1 done, since you all are reading this post :-D

I'll redo #2. Thanks Miss Laurie, Miss Dashwood, and Abby! Be sure to visit their blogs!

#3. 7 Random facts about myself! (With pictures)

1. I enjoy Christmas at any time of the year. As a matter of fact, I really want it to be Christmas right now! I like the overall feel to Christmas: it's a joyous time in which we come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Christ.
2. I'm planning on double majoring in Computer Science and Accounting. I really enjoy helping people out with the computer, and to me Accounting is like a big puzzle that I enjoy doing.

3. I love historical fashion (as if you all couldn't tell!). I like to study it in my free time. I've studied fashions from 1700 to 1900, though I'm becoming more and more interested in Edwardian fashions. My favorite fashion era has to be the Regency Era!
4. I started to play the piano in January of this year. I'm currently trying to learn an easy version of Moonlight Sonata, but I also try to go into my Jane Austen music book and try to play some of the songs in there.

Tatting
5. I enjoy puzzles. I really enjoy Sudoku puzzles, but I also like crossword puzzles. A couple times when I was sick, my parents would buy me a book of puzzles to help pass the time; it helped!
6. I taught myself how to sew, embroider, tat (a form of lace making; see picture to the right), cross-stitch, and some crocheting. For sewing, I watched my grandma sew one time when I was younger and I picked up on it quickly; so my mom bought me a kid's sewing craft book and I've been sewing ever since (though now I sew clothes and historical costumes instead of craft items). For embroidery, tatting, and crocheting, I just found books in Hobby Lobby or JoAnn Fabrics and taught myself through the books without observation.

7. When I do watch TV (which is getting less and less often now-a-days), I like to watch older shows. One of the shows I like to watch is Bonanza.

#4. Favorite Hobby, Color, and Food
Hobby - I have a number of hobbies, so I don't think I can pick just one. I'm just going to list my hobbies here:
* Computers
*Sewing
*Video Games
*Embroidery
*Tatting
*Blogging
*Historical Fashion
*Photoshop
*Reading ("I am not a great reader, and I have pleasure in many things." - Elizabeth Bennet)

Color - I really like Blue. It's a very mellow color and easy on the eyes. It's not wild, but mild.

Food - I really like half of the Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich and a cup of French Onion soup from Panera! Mmmmmm!
Hey! Someone had the same idea as me!

#5. Nominate 10 Bloggers
Here we go: 10 Blogs to Nominate.

One Lovely Blog Award and 300th Post!

Another award! Thank you, Maria Elisabeth from Miss Georgiana Darcy for the award! So I'm supposed to tell you seven random facts about me and then award this to fifteen other blogs!

Edit 9/10/11: I also won this award from Katie from Legacy of a Writer. Thanks Katie!

7 Facts

  2. I taught myself how to sew, embroider, tat, and crochet.
  3. I have two dogs. They're Bedlington Terriers and they're actually distantly related. The older one is a male and his name is Ali (11 years old), and the younger one is a girl named Coco (soon to be 8). (If you want to see pictures of them, I made a post about winter wrap-around jackets that I made for them for the winter months. Click here to view them)
  4. I like to sew historical costumes.
  5. I do like to play video and computer games. One type of games that I like are historical city building games.
  6. I'm very close with my mom.
  7. The subject in school that I didn't like was science (natural science, not computer science :-D ).
Okay, I'm supposed to award 15, but I can only come up with 11.
  1. All Things Jane Austen
  2. Austenitis
  3. Beautiful Blank Pages

I have won the Liebster Award!

Sweet! Another award! I should have posted this sooner: it got a little busy the last couple of week plus planning and hosting Period Drama Week. I've been awarded this award twice: from Charity U at Austenitis and from Abby from Newly Impassioned Soul.

1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them.
Thanks Charity and Abby! Make sure you visit their blogs!

2. Give the Liebster Blog Award to five bloggers and comment on their blogs, letting them know they got it.
Okay, so as I am limited to only five, don't be offended if I don't include your blog. I'm just limited. And if I also noticed that you've already received the award, that could be a reason why I didn't include you.
  1. Old-Fashioned Charm
  2. God's Daughter
  3. The Birthday Blog
  4. Elegance of Drama
  5. All Things Jane Austen

    3. Copy and paste the award to your blog.

    4. Have faith your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.

    5. Have blogging fun!
