Guest Post by Charity: Spotlight -- Persuasion (2007)

Hey, y'all! I'm Charity, and I'm back with another movie spotlight! I posted earlier this week about myfirst one, so if you want background information, go check that post out. But for now...another movie spotlight! The movie this time?

Persuasion (2007)

There's the whole Elliot family!

This version of Persuasion is a delight to watch! Again, I've seen both the 1995 and the 2007 version and love them both -- but decided this one was better for pictures (such a handsome young Captain Wentworth!). Don't get me wrong, Ciaran Hinds is also an excellent CW, but I do like Rupert Penry-Jones.

Again, if you want to learn more about me, there are links in my first guest post here on Elegance of Fashion. There's a link at the top of this post. But for now, here are links to my reviews of the 1995 and 2007 version of Persuasion.

Miss Elizabeth, thank you SO much for asking me to post here on Elegance of Fashion! It was a joy to write these up. :)

  1. Prefer the 2007 version over the 1995. Ciaran isn't suited to the role of Wentworth in my humble opinion although he is an excellent actor in other roles.

    Glad you like it. :)

  3. Isn't the 7th picture from Persuasion 1995?

  4. I love both versions myself. But definitely agree that Rupert makes lovely, lovely eye candy! Plus that last scene is just adorable. The only quibble I have with this version is when Anne goes running through the streets. But I can forgive that with all the other awesome-ness. :)

  5. Rissi, I enjoyed Ciaran in the role, but also see what you mean...there were definitely some faults. Glad you stopped by!

Anonymous, HA! You are right. Yup. So right. Can't believe I mixed that up...musta been daydreaming while blogging! Thanks for catching that. :)

Kara, me too! Yeah, the whole running scene is a little...melodramatic. But the 1995 has that strange parade/circus scene. There's not an absolutely PERFECT Persuasion yet, but between the two of them, they figure it all out. :)
