Happy New Year! And Upcoming Events (Please Read; Comments Suggested)

Happy New Year, everyone! Now that 2012 is behind us and we have 2013 to come, I hope that everyone has had a good 2012 and that everyone will have a good 2013.

Now, as 2013 has begun, I would like to announce a couple of plans that I would like to announce for the beginning of 2013.

200 Years of Pride and Prejudice at Elegance of Fashion
200 Years of Pride and Prejudice Blog Party
January 28th marks the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice. To honor the 200th anniversary of my favorite book, I will be holding a week long event to commemorate 200 years of Pride and Prejudice. The blog party will start on January 21st and end on the day itself. There will be a lot of events planned: trivia, contests, posts about Pride and Prejudice, and even guest posts! You won't want to miss this! You can visit the page for the event either by clicking on the button above or by clicking here!

The Villains Tournament
As I haven't had a tournament in a while, and since many of you suggested a villains tournament, I will be holding sometime in February a villains tournament! There is still much for me to plan, so more details will be coming out as February draws nearer. And, of course, if you have any suggestions for The Villains Tournament, feel free to leave a comment!

The Return of Polls!
Okay, I've slacked off a lot on the side bar polls lately. For 2013, I would like to start them up again, but I haven't really had a good idea for a poll in a long time. So, what I'm asking of my readers is that you leave comments with ideas for poll questions. I'll of course give your credit. You can either leave a question with choices or just a question and I could figure out the choices.

Reader Questions
A lot of this will be repeated from above, but for 2013, I would also like to start up my reader questions again. But I'll need your help for that! If you have a question that you would like me to answer in a decent sized post, feel free to leave a comment! I can't promise that I'll have enough material for everything you ask, but I'll make an effort to answer your questions whether it's in a reply to your comment or in a post. Here are the guidelines for the Reader Questions. It doesn't need to be period drama related either; questions could be related to how I run my blog, or how I do things, or even if there are any non-period drama movies I recommend. As long as it's clean and reasonable, I'm good with it!

That's all the announcements for now. Here's hoping this year will be a great year!

 God Bless,
God Bless, Miss Elizabeth Bennet

  1. Oooh! How exciting! A P&P party and a Villians Tournament!

Well, besides all the Jane Austen villains like Henry Crawford, Mary Crawford, William Elliot, John Thorpe, Isabella Thorpe, Mr. Elton and Mrs. Elton how about some Dickens and Gaskell villains?

From Bleak House: Mr. Tulkinghorn, Mr. Guppy, Mr. Smallweed. From Little Dorrit: Rigaud, Jeremiah Flintwinch? From Oliver Twist: Fagin, Bill Sykes. From Our Mutual Friend: Bradley Headstone. From Nicholas Nickleby: Wackford Squeers, Ralph Nickleby. From David Copperfield: Uriah Heap. From Wives & Daughters: Mr. Preston.
Carver Doone from Lorna Doone would be a great one to include. Professor James Moriarty from the original Sherlock Homes stories would be good. Miss Minchin from A Little Princess. John Jasper from Edwin Drood. Rev. Gibson from He Knew He Was Right? Heleigh Gradcourt from Daniel Deronda.
