Anna Massey Dies at Age 73


Anna Massey, known for her roles to period drama fans as Aunt Stanbury in He Knew He Was Right and as Mrs. Bedwin in Oliver Twist, has died of cancer at age 73.

    This makes me sadder than I can say. Dear Anna Massey was one of my favorite British actors. She's up there with Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins, just so talented and a real gem. One of those lovely ladies I've always wanted to meet. Thank you for posting this!

    She had a knack for playing the role of (sometimes) disagreeable aunts, didn't she?

    Miss Stanbury wasn't as disagreeable as Mrs. Norris, I grant you. Not nearly!! She was kind of funny...

    Cancer...ick. :(
