Plans Being Made for Hero Tournament! Some Questions for you... Banner Page... And a new poll!

Okay, I kind of combined this post into one big mega-post...

I'm currently in the process of making plans for the Hero Tournament. There are going to be more contestants in this tournament than the last one. If anyone would like to nominate someone to be a contestant, I will try to fit them in. I want to keep it less than 50. I have 40 picked out so far, so there are 10 spots available.

Also, I was thinking of adding in a new feature into the tournament: somewhere there will be a bonus poll where you could bring back a contestant (or more than one, I'll have to see how it would work) into the running. What would you think of that?

If you would like to answer these questions, leave a comment!

I also added a banner page for all the banners that I made and put up. I have a list of links at the bottom of the page for other blogs that you can find my banners on. If you added a banner of mine onto your blog and you don't see a link to your blog there, tell me so I can add it.

Oh! There is also a new poll up! Sorry I took so long to post a new regular poll: I had a hard time trying to think one up, but now I have one! The new question is: "What Period Drama TV Series do you like to watch?"

Update: Only 7 spots remain for nominations for the Hero Tournament.

Update: Only 6 spots remain for nominations for the Hero Tournament.

Update 4/12: 5 more to go!

Update 4/13: 4 more!

Update 4/13: 3 more!

  1. I think Arthur Clenham (from Little Dorrit) should be one!

  2. 1. I like the post title. :)

    2. Oh wow! That's a lot of choices! Thank goodness I love polls. :) You've probably got all the good ones...get all Jane Austen's, don't forget Laurie from Little Women, Pip from Great Expectations, Westley from Princess Bride (? he would probably do well, actually... ;), oooo, this going to be so fun!

    3. Good idea about the bonus poll! I know I definitely would have used it for Emma Woodhouse. Oh, speaking (or not) of another heroine tournament someday... you should add in the March girls from Little Women. I like them. :)

    4. Off to check out the Banners page. I like the idea! Obviously, I did it myself. ;) And I will vote on the poll.

    5. That's all. :)

  4. Alayna,
Got Arthur Clennam in there; he was in the original list of characters. Thanks!

    Charity U,
I added Laurie, Pip, and Westley. I actully never seen Little Women and only a little bit of Princess Bride. Are they both good?

Everyone else - 7 spots remain.

  5. Both movies are good. And of course, you know LW the book is good. :) There are multiple film versions of it. You should watch PB! It's one of my favorite films. :) Though not very Jane Austen...

  6. Final comment. Maybe. :) Just checked out the banners page again (the pix didn't show up before) and you're missing a few...maybe you left them out on purpose, or something. Discovered I was missing a couple of them too, on my page. So I added them. :) I like the Mr. Knightly and Emma one, where they're on different sides of the door! Sweetness. I hope you'll keep posting when you add new ones? :)

  7. I thought all the banners would be all up there. I found there was one that should have been up there but wasn't. Blogger was acting a little weird for me this afternoon; maybe it deleted that one for some reason? It should be back up. Thank you, Charity U! :-)

  11. I nominate Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables. =)

Good ideas! I'm looking forward to it!

  12. And I would be very surorised if Mr Darcy & Mr Knightley weren't in there. How about John Thornton, is he in there? He's a popular hero. ;-)

  13. Melody,
I remembered how you wanted Gilbert Blythe in there, so he was in the original 40 names. John Thornton is in there too.

  14. Oh! How nice.

And, I'd consider Proffesor Bhear just as much a hero of Little Women as Laurie. ;-)

  15. Professor Bhear was just added. Five more spots to go!

  16. I'm sorry to be making *another* comment, but...

    I meant surPrised. ;-)

  17. Oooo, I love this. :) Yes, Prof Bhaer (I think that's how it's spelled? You might want to check) should be in. And so should...oh, what is his name. Percy Blakeney from Scarlet Pimpernel. :) Have you read that? Amazing book, very good.

  18. Prof. Bhaer should definitely be one. :) I think that's how you spell his name, you might want to check. And add...Percy Blakeney from Scarlet Pimpernel. If you haven't read that, you should. It's wonderful.

  19. Percy Blakenney has just been entered. Four more spots remain!

  20. Elegance of Fashion,
Im sorry, I didnt see that Arther C. Was already in there. Im SOOOOOOOOOOO SUPER GLAD that Oliver Twist is in the quiz!!! Is this quiz going to have multiple answers? I hope so!! Did you add Pip from Little Dorrit? I think you did.

  21. Tasha,
What do you mean by multiple answers? Pip is in there: Charity U nominated him. I'm glad that you're excited! I can't wait to start this tournament, although I still need to work out all the details. :-)

  22. Oh! Speaking of Percys, I remember liking Lord Percy from The Inheritance by Lousia May Alcott, a book she wrote when she was 17. If you go by the movie, it would just be Mr. Percy...and I think he had a first name...

And I assume you have both Edward AND Col. Brandon? :) And Roger Hamley from Wives and Daughters?

    Oh dear...when will I stop...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Melody,
Just added Lord Percy. And yep: Edward and Colonel Brandon and Roger Hamley are in there.

  24. I don't quite understand what is going on here, so I should probably read back a couple posts. :-) It looks interesting.

You commented on my blog about the sleeve in Simplicity 4092 earlier...could you tell me how it turned out? I haven't sewn it on the dress yet because it just seems odd and baggy. How does that curve (looks like it is for the elbow) work out when it is on the dress? Thanks!

  25. Do you have Sir Percy Blakeney form The Scarlet Pimpernel?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Joanna,
Yep, I've added Sir Percy Blakeney from The Scarlet Pimpernel. I just left a comment at your blog about the sleeves. Hope it helps! :-)
