Ah! I had forgotten to put up the poll results from 200 Years of Pride and Prejudice! Sorry about that. But here are the results of the polls:

And here are the captions!
- " there goes kitty's 4th suitor that mama has run off." by Lydia
- Elizabeth: I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now.
- Wave goodbye to the real world...You've just stepped into...The Twilight Zone! (dramatic music)
- "Parting is such sweet sorrow..."
- "Let us not have tears. Partings are a natural part of life."
- Lizzy: Go, go. I would not wish you back again.

More Polls: Favorite Actor/Actress

Yes, I'm putting up even more polls! It sometimes happens that after we watch multiple versions of the same story, there are certain things we like in one version than in other versions (hey, just look at this guest post about the 1995 and 2008 versions of Sense and Sensibility that Melody and I did). So, following a similar line, I'm putting up polls to see which actor/actress viewers prefer in the different versions of Pride and Prejudice. These polls can be found on the left sidebar. The Characters I have polls up for are:
Elizabeth Bennet
Mr. Darcy
Jane Bennet
Mr. Bingley
Mr. Bingley
Mr. and Mrs. Bennet
Lady Catherine de Bourgh
George Wickham
Kitty/Lydia Bennet
Simply vote for which actor/actress you liked best for each of the characters (or as many as you wish). At the end of the event, I'll post the results!
Which actors/actresses do you prefer for each of these characters?

Poll Results: Next Event
As you may have noticed, the poll I had up closed a couple of days ago. Though there were a couple of hiccups, I still managed to get some decent results.
What event should I hold next at Elegance of Fashion?
The winning vote goes to a tournament! I'll get to work planning on a new tournament. Thank you everyone for voting!

What Event Next? (Vote in Poll!)
Wow... It's been quite a while since I've posted a new poll. And it's also been a while since I've held an event at Elegance of Fashion (unless the Period Drama Trivia Challenge counted?).
But in any case, I must hold a special event at Elegance of Fashion! It's been far too long. And something exciting needs to happen here. So, what I want to know is:

Poll Results (Combo of Little Women Poll and Caption)
Again, sorry my posts have been a little infrequent. I'm working on posting on a regular basis, but I'm still trying to work through my school schedule/work schedule/etc. I hope to post at least once a week (hopefully more, but at least once a week). And hopefully I'll get back to posting reviews on a more regular basis.
I intended to post about the poll separately, but since they both ended before I could put a post together, I'm doing a combo post for both polls.

Vote On Captions!
Now that the submissions for captions are now closed, now comes the poll! I got a very good response on submissions for the caption contest!
God Bless,
So, remember what the picture was...
Which captions are your favorites?
- "I am an absolute scourge of spiders! Woe betide any spider who ventures into my society!"
- "All of Mr. Fife's deputies must learn his special salute, Miss Woodhouse. It's mandatory."
- Emma: Farm boy, fetch me that pitcher.
Elton: As you wish. - Elton: As always, Miss Woodhouse, you preside over everything else in existence. I will guard this scroll with my life.
- Elton: The only power that I can see at present, madmoiselle, is the power of your beauty.
Emma: Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Mr Elton.
Elton: This beholder is enchanted. - Mr. Elton: "You see, Emma something is not quiet right up stairs with Harriet."
- "One must always use the little gray cells, you know, Miss Woodhouse!"
- Elton: Don't look now, but I've a feeling we're being WATCHED.
- Mr. Elton-- The discoverer of Treasure Planet would go down in history as one of the grestest explorers! He'd be able to experience... Whoa! What just happened?
- Mr. Knightly: He may sepak sentimentally but he will behave rationally. Why is he hitting himself with that?
- Emma: A soldier? A brain surgeon? A king?
Mr. Knightley: Oh Emma, you've never been good at Charades! - Elton: I'm off to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz!
- Elton: Superglue, Miss Woodhouse? How droll.
Emma & Knightley: Muwhahahahahaha! - Mr. E: Your Majesty, I would gladly take a bullet for you.
Emma: Oh how brave, most interns don't even want to fetch me my tea. - Emma: Aren't you so adorable?! I mean, is it just me or is he adorably cute?
Knightley: For me, two words come to mind--delusional and weirdo. And also, goofy. Just goofy. - Mr. Elton: Oh Emma, I have this itch on my forehead, I can't stop scratching it!
Emma: My, how exhilarating! Is it a result of your feverish love for Miss Smith?
And, because I'm feeling generous ("I'm the soul of generosity!"), I'm going to make the poll so you can select multiple answers! So select as many as you like!
You have one week to vote!

Am I going into a controversial topic for Little Women fans? Maybe I am... But it's a question that's been on my mind since finding the pin above at Pinterest (Follow Me Here).

Period Drama TV Series Seasons (Vote in Poll!)
I don't know about the rest of you, but I noticed something about Period Drama Series: generally speaking, the first season/series of a show is usually the best.
Now, I've seen a couple of period drama TV series.

Poll Closed
I know the poll closed a couple of days ago, but I finally got a chance to post about the results today. So, there were two polls this time around.
Do you think Northanger Abbey's Catherine Morland would have read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte?
So, it was unanimous: everyone that voted agreed that Catherine Morland would have read Jane Eyre if Jane Eyre was available during Regency England.
Now comes the harder question:
God Bless,
Do you think Northanger Abbey's Catherine Morland would have read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte?
Yes
48 (100%)
No
0 (0%)
So, it was unanimous: everyone that voted agreed that Catherine Morland would have read Jane Eyre if Jane Eyre was available during Regency England.
Now comes the harder question:
Would Catherine Morland have enjoyed Jane Eyre
Yes | 33 (78%) |
No | 9 (21%) |
Most of the people who voted agreed that Catherine would have enjoyed Jane Eyre.
Thank you everyone for voting in these two polls! I'll put up another one up on Wednesday.

Would Catherine Morland Read Jane Eyre? (Vote in Poll!)
Sorry this poll is a day late. I've had very limited access to the computer in the past couple of days, so I haven't been able to work on Elegance of Fashion all that much (a little here and there, but not much). That should be over now and I'll be back to updating and what not.
Now, onto the poll!
Here is the newest question that I post to you and quite the interesting question too. We know that Charlotte Bronte was not fond of Jane Austen's books (namely Pride and Prejudice), but she wrote Jane Eyre, which would be considered a Gothic Romance, something that Northanger Abbey's Catherine Morland enjoyed reading.

Sorry About That... (The Polls Are Up Now!)
I made a slight error. I scheduled the post about "Who Wore This Dress Better" with the intention of putting up the polls before the post was posted. My mom and I took my grandma out to lunch today and it was during lunch that I remembered that I forgot to put up the polls! The polls are up now and open for voting. The polls will end at noon on Saturday.
Again, I apologize for my little mistake. Happy voting!

Wednesday: Who Wore This Dress Better? (Poll!) - Period Drama Fashion Week
For this post, there will be a poll associated with it which will be open for the rest of the week. I got this idea from a comment that I made in my Bleak House review. Since movie costumes are used over and over again in different period dramas, we can see the same costume on different characters/actresses. So the question that I post to you all is:
Who wears the dress better?
I have polls up on my left side bar. Remember, you are voting on how the characters look, not on which character you like better (I know, superficial :-P ). So, the polls are up. Go out and vote on who wore the dress better!

New Poll: Tournaments and Such
Hey everyone!
God Bless,
So, since the Period Drama Advice Event has ended, I would like to start up something soon. I am currently planning a event/party (which will remain a secret until I announce it), but I would like to hold another tournament sometime in the future. So I put up a poll at the side bar:
Which Tournament Ideas Would You Be Interested In?
Worst Villain
Young Characters
Historical Characters
Period Drama Couples
Favorite Character from a period drama*
Favorite Character from a period drama*
These were previously requested ideas from other bloggers. Please note that these names for the tournaments are not set in stone: the names themselves may change.
Please feel free to make suggestions for future tournaments! It might not be the next one, but maybe the one after that. Let's see how this works out with the voting.
* For the favorite character from a period drama tournament, it would be a tournament with a bunch of characters from a period drama. It would work like a regular tournament, but all the characters would be from one period drama
