Seriously!
I agree with you both Wuthering Heights was such a depressing book huge contrast to P&P. I don't mind reading books which have a sad tone or some darker emotions/feelings but Wuthering Heights went a little to far for me.Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02210949601658438992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-48149587026102266822011-05-06T15:01:29.678-05:002011-05-06T15:01:29.678-05:00So true...it was rather dismal, wasn't it? :( ...So true...it was rather dismal, wasn't it? :( And P&P is just sunny and happy. :) But reading them that way must have especially been a contrast!Charity Uhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02717998337967392912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-22401943649211026242011-05-06T14:15:59.255-05:002011-05-06T14:15:59.255-05:00I remember in English, we just finished Pride and ...I remember in English, we just finished Pride and Prejudice (which I already read), and right after we started reading Wuthering Heights. What a contrast! I went from a book where there were a lot of characters I liked to a book where I didn't like any of the characters. And the overall tones were so different! Pride and Prejudice was so happy and delightful, and Wuthering Heights was not.Miss Elizabeth Bennethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02019249086339232260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-2987908145430369462011-05-06T10:40:44.970-05:002011-05-06T10:40:44.970-05:00Tristans, you are far from the only one who dislik...Tristans, you are far from the only one who dislikes him! I hated the book (didn't even read the whole thing) and I know Elegance of Fashion isn't fond of him either. I like the Edward from the book...well, really, it doesn't say enough about Edward in the book, but from some things it does have. =)Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05676306236172688321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-68801647626574255842011-05-05T15:16:08.100-05:002011-05-05T15:16:08.100-05:00You're right Jemimah, these poll results are v...You're right Jemimah, these poll results are very satisfying! I voted for Sherlock Holmes in poll 15 but as far as a hero Laurie is definitely more kind and friendly guys. I feel bad about Roger Hamley, he's one of those unsung heroes. Glad that St. John Rivers is winning, I actually like him more than Mr. Rochester most times. And I hope Captain Wentworth continues to win, he's a very brave and worthy hero, one of the best! I'm really rooting for Mr. Knightley, he's becoming my favorite Austen hero.

~Miss Laurie
Old-Fashioned CharmMiss Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00973247921599001493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-50460703265891445442011-05-05T11:52:53.760-05:002011-05-05T11:52:53.760-05:00Those are satisfying results. Can't wait for the next round!Jujubehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08625993495744395314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-18057995333915598122011-05-05T11:26:13.451-05:002011-05-05T11:26:13.451-05:00Yes! Go Sir Percy!
Yay, Heathcliff is losing.
P...Yes! Go Sir Percy!
Yay, Heathcliff is losing.
Phew, see Mr. Darcy go! Wow. :)
I'll bet Colonel Brandon will fall further back in the future...
WHAT? Edward Ferrars has as many votes as Mr. Darcy? It must be who he's paired against.
AH! I want Sydney Carton to go on!
Hooray for Laurie! (I'm typing this as I go...)
Westley's doing good! :)
I'm about to read "The Inheritance". Sometime this week.
Oooo, it's close between Captain Wentworth and Bingley...I wish they would both win. :P
Can't believe St. John is doing so good. I don't like him much. But I think I voted for him because I didn't know the other guy. Well, he'll probably be out in the next round.
Mr. Knightley has as many votes as Darcy and Edward F! Interesting. Not that I'm shocked that he's up there by Darcy...But I am surprised Edward's doing so well. I already said that.
Yay, Pip is doing well!
Gilbert and Mr. Rochester...that was a hard one.
That's all. :) Now you have all my thoughts of the progress so far. ;)Charity Uhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02717998337967392912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4523012080492654376.post-59344351019069666962011-05-05T11:11:33.178-05:002011-05-05T11:11:33.178-05:00Thanks, Melody.
